PRS S2 Standard 24 Satin

At the time, I was playing an Epiphone Les Paul Special II (a good affordable guitar, BTW). But I wanted to upgrade to something in the $1,000 range. I had researched a little bit and decided I was going to look at an EVH and a Gibson Les Paul. I went to my local Guitar Center and tried both. The EVH was easy to play (like butter), sounded good, but felt kind of cheap. The Gibson was solid as a rock, sounded good, but didn't have a tremolo bar. I went back and forth. Then a guitar center guy came over and asked if I needed help. I told him I wanted a versatile guiter with a tremolo that was good for a bunch of genres.

He said, "Have you tried a PRS?" I told him I had never heard of PRS (my brand acumen was limited at the time). "Yeah, sure, I'll give it a shot." I proceeded to rotate all three, playing different types of riffs. TBH, they all sounded pretty good. But the PRS stuck out. I was smitten. I got permission from my wife, and did the deal.

This guitar SINGS. I mean, you can play anything on it, but it really really sounds good when soloing. The action is just right. It will sustain all day. It stays in tune, even when using the tremolo (although, to be fair, I don't really jerk that thing around much, just lean on it a bit every now and then).

About This Instrument

I didn't record all these specs at the time of purchase. But through the infernet I was able to piece it all together. It is possible some of this is slightly inaccurate. I did my best.
